The importance of the way you look (and feel)

The fashion world and everything that surrounds it has always been seen as a frivolous part of the society that moves millions and millions of dollars. When we say ‘fashion’ the first image that comes to our mind is Anna Wintour, Vogue’s editor-in-chief, with her classic characteristic bangs and her obscene big glasses sitting at a front row of a fashion show with a straight face. But fashion goes beyond.

Someone once said: ‘Dress for the job you want, not the one you have’, wise words if you think of them carefully! Dress as you wish, even if at your office people wear blue jeans; if you like to dress fancy, why clipping your wings? Express yourself through fashion!

When it comes to the job market, or jungle…, you can be the smartest person in the room, but if you don’t have the style the company is looking for, you’re not getting the job and that’s the ugly truth.

The clothes you choose for a job interview play a vital role as you may feel confident and will infect with that glow of confidence the interviewer, who has to make the choice whether to hire you or not. Some tips? Don’t wear strident colors or flamboyant garments to an interview, you’d better opt for a casual and elegant outfit. In these cases less is more.

Some may say first impression doesn’t count, but that absolutely false. Your look is your welcome card, then your attitude will do the rest. Be comfortable and what’s more important feel comfy.

Use your look to send a message: you’re the perfect fit for that job vacancy.

‘The Devil wears Prada’ looks.
